{Emily + Danny: Married!} | Warrenton, OR wedding photographer

Emily happens to be my oldest friend in the world. Her parents and my parents have been friends for years, and she and I grew up together. To this day, we still share a special friendship and not only that, but she is my hair stylist extraordinaire! ┬áIt was my honor to shoot her wedding in September, to Danny, who is her perfect match. Their day was my so much fun, and I was so lucky and so happy to be a part of it. Danny’s parents live in Warrenton, OR, on the coast. The wedding and reception was held at their home, but Emily was adamant that she didn’t want it to feel like a “beach” wedding. It didn’t, and we we lucked out with sunshine and mild temperatures. Enjoy their day!

Emily’s gorgeous dress

This was a sweet moment as Danny’s Dad came in and presented Emily with a beautiful diamond necklace to wear on her special day

Emily and Danny elected to do pictures before the ceremony

The first look!

Emily’s Mom with her adorable Grandkids, who played flower girl and ring bearers for the day

Emily’s beautiful sisters, Wren & Rachael looked gorgeous as the matrons of honor

Love this one of the boys

Danny and his groomsmen all had custom Nike AirForce Ones. Pretty cool idea!

Quite possibly my favorite of the day!

Well, maybe I lied, this one is probably my favorite

Emily, expectantly waiting for the ceremony to begin, watching the guests come in. She looks so beautiful!

Exchanging rings and vows

Emily did almost all the decorating herself. Love these flower balls for the reception

Emily’s best friend Bethel did all the cupcakes for the wedding. They were adorable!

I can’t believe its already been 2 months since the wedding. I’m getting a little teary eyed going through the pictures of their day again. It is always a joy to see two people in love on their wedding day, and the happiness is contagious! For me, the greatest thing about being a photographer is capturing the happy memories that will be remembered forever…and if it happens to be a friend, it is even more rewarding.

Danny and Emily, thank you again for the honor of photographing your wedding day. I love you both, and wish you a lifetime of love and joy!

{Foteff Family} | Boring, OR family photographer

I met up with the Foteff Family at the beginning of October, out at Liepold Farms’ pumpkin patch. I had never done a shoot at a pumpkin patch, but I thought it was such a great idea, with corn fields and pumpkins for background and added color! The little one is 6 months old and even though she didn’t want to do much smiling for me, she was still adorable and a lot of fun to photograph! Hope you enjoy!

Love this one! We needed Daddy’s help for balance a little…

Even doing airplane didn’t get a smile!

Such a cute little family!

And finally…at the end, I was rewarded with a smile!

Thanks again Foteff Family for inviting me out to your fun day at the pumpkin patch!

{Skelton Family} | Portland, OR family photographer

I met up with the adorable Skelton family at Laurelhurst Park a few weekends ago, on one of those awesome sunny Fall Portland days. I had never met them, but it was so fun to run around the park with their beautiful and busy daughters!

Such a cute family!

We made sure to take some time for FUN!

I really love this one of Miss L

A nice one of Mom and Dad

The pond color was a little suspect, but I’m glad the water is back at Laurelhurst finally!

Such sweet girls!

Thanks again Skelton family for spending the morning with me! It was so much fun, I hope we get to do it again!

{Paxson Wedding} | Gresham, OR wedding photographer

Megan and Johnnie are high school sweethearts and friends of mine! After being together for years, they finally decided to tie the knot in September. The wedding was held at the groom’s sisters home, with a large open field, surrounded by farm land. The weather was not good, it rained all day and at the last minute they decided to move the ceremony from outside to under the reception tent. We made do with the weather and did our best to get pictures between the downpours!

Megan’s dress was simple, but gorgeous. It was totally her.

The first look, his face is too cute!

Such a beautiful couple!

Johnnie is a professional snowboarder, and a Ralph Lauren model! He is quite easy on the eyes :)

One of my favorite things about the wedding was Megan’s simple, elegant choices in detail. The dresses were so great, I especially loved the cowboy boots!

Johnnie’s family is huge, and all his groomsmen were either brothers or cousins. There were lots and lots of laughs that day, they were so much fun!

One good looking wedding party!

Beautiful cake

The guests

First dance

I think the highlight of the night was when Johnnie drove his Bronco into the reception tent to Greased Lightning with all the boys in the back…

He even flipped off the hood!

Just married!

It was a great wedding, even with the bad weather, and I was so thrilled to be a part of their special day! Congrats again Megan and Johnnie! Wishing you two a lifetime of love and happiness!!

{Mr. C is 6 months old!} Portland, OR family photographer

Its hard to believe its already time for Mr. C’s 6 month pictures! Time is flying! I have been keeping really busy with weddings, families, seniors etc during late summer and early fall. Now that the weddings are over for the year, I can take more time to edit and update my site and blog. Yay!

Here are some pictures of the cutest 6 month old around!

Mom wanted to get a few shots of Mr. C in his Halloween costume. Too cute, little Lion Man!

I actually really loved Mom’s idea of doing pictures around their family home, just doing regular routine things around the house. She wanted to capture some of dinner time, since baby is just recently eating food.

I loved this “baby bird” shot!

He wouldn’t stop flirting while eating! Watch out ladies!

After dinner we got some naked time and tummy time!so cute!

Emily and Brandon are such great parents. I love watching them interact with their little one!

Such a big boy! Thanks again E & B for having me in your home to capture some precious moments with your little one! I’m looking forward to our next time already, and seeing how Mr. C will grow and change!

{Nik + Rachelle: wedding!} Sandy, OR wedding photographer

Nik and Rachelle are friends of mine, and their gorgeous July wedding was one that I got to attend as a guest, rather than a “working” guest. However, I can’t resist taking lots of pictures at weddings, even when I’m not working, and since Rachelle was such a stunning bride, I have to share some pictures!

Their wedding and reception were at Nik’s parent’s house, on the Sandy River. It was a perfect night-not too warm or too cold, great food, drinks and friends and we even got to end the night with a wedding beach bonfire! I loved the whole thing. So, for some pictures!

I loved Rachelle’s dress, it was so amazing on her.The sun hit her just right as her step dad walked her to the aisle

Her Dad walked her down the aisle

Nik’s face is so sweet as he waits for her

Mr. & Mrs!

For the cocktail hour we had drinks on the private beach and the bride and groom walked down for some pictures

Here’s Rick and some of our friends on the beach

And one last one of the table setting. I loved the colors.

Congratulations again Nik & Rachelle. It was such a gorgeous wedding and we had so much fun! So happy for you both :)

{Becky} Portland, OR photographer

Becky is my best friend in the whole world! We have been best friends since the 3rd grade-going on 24 years I think. Sadly, she lives all the way in Boise, while she’s in school, but she came into town in July and we were able to take a trip to the beach together, which was a lot of fun. Becky’s Dad recently got married and his new wife requested a large picture of Becky to hang in their hallway next to pictures of her kids’ senior pictures. I happily obliged and we were able to take some time while at the beach and get some frame-worthy pictures!

Becky has always been gorgeous, and with a good location and some good light, she’s even more so!

My favorite one…

And one silly (but still cute!) one for good measure!

I love you Becky!

{Eddie Vedder concert} Portland, OR Photographer

In July my friend Kelly and I attended the Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (or Schnitz as we call it!). It was a truly amazing show, in a fantastic venue. A good portion of the concert was Eddie playing songs on his ukelele, but he also did some Pearl Jam songs and I really loved that it felt like you were just sitting in his living room listening to him playing. It felt unlike any other show I’ve been to, plus he had 2 long encores. I could take pictures of Eddie all day, but here are a few of my favorites from the evening!

Welcome to Eddie’s “living room”!

The amazing Schnitz!

Eddie with Glen Hansard and 2 of the Sleater Kinney girls

and lastly, the marquis!

{Peterson Family Reunion} Salem, OR family photographer

We attended Rick’s family reunion in July, and as the designated photographer, I grabbed a couple of shots of the whole family together!

Growing bigger all the time!

{4th of July, 2011} Portland, OR Photographer

Since I’m not really upkeeping my personal blog anymore, I am going to try and put some personal posts on here as well about some of the fun things that my husband Rick and I do. We are both super busy and social and I try my best to take a lot of pictures of all the fun things we do.

We had a really fun 3-day 4th of July weekend filled with fun and friends. Here are some pictures of our weekend!

Rick and I both play in a kickball league and were invited to play in a fun game that weekend. The only rule was you had to have a drink in hand the whole game. It was really fun, they call it Slosh Ball :) Here’s a shot of all the participants…Rick is in the white shirt in the chair and I’m in the orange on the right!

On the 4th itself we met some friends down on Waterfront Park to people watch before fireworks

The Hawthorne bridge at dusk

Me (in the middle) with my friends Kelly and Jenny

Around firework time we headed over to the Marriott on the waterfront. Our friends had rooms there for the night, with balconies overlooking the Blues Festival and the firework show. The rooms were on the top floor of the hotel, directly in front of the firework show. It ended up being the most perfect spot to watch the fireworks and gave a different vantage point of the city that I hadn’t seen before.

The Marriott from our vantage point…lots of other people on their balconies too

This has to be one of my all time favorite Portland pictures

Fireworks!

What a great night!
